Potatoes On Landing
Preparing potato tubers for landing is considered to be one of the most responsible moments! From the very beginning of April, potato must be cooked for landing. We should start with the tubers. All incomplete tubers - affected by dry or wet rots, steam and other diseases, as well as too small (up to 30 g) and ugly as well as tubers over 90 g.
Potato production depends largely on the quality of seed. It has been found that tubers from sick and weak plants offer low yields and unhealthy progeny. Often gardeners have to buy landing material. In this case, the selection of healthy and large tubers is particularly important.
Big tubers are bigger than small ones. The highest yields are from tubers weighing 100 g and above. An average of 40 kg of tubers is required for 100 square metres. You can be used for planting and average tubers, weighing 40 to 60 g.
Less than 30 g should not be planted. When using medium and small tubers, seeds are increased.
Normal unprepared tubers begin to grow at an early stage of landing only 10-15 days after landing. And before the exits arrive on the surface, it takes another 15 to 20 days. Thus, 25 to 35 days from the time of the tubers ' landing to the arrival of the outlets. In order to speed up the arrival of crops and yields earlier, the following tuber preparation techniques are recommended:
- tubers shall be rotated for 25 to 35 days at 12 to 15° heat;
- Tubers in the wet environment (in opium, peat, manure, sand, land) for 15 to 20 days at the same temperature;
- tubers at not less than 10 degrees of heat.
Lighting has accelerated the emergence of potato seeds for 10 to 15 days, thereby reducing the time before the flow and formation of tubers. Potato removal begins much sooner when scattered tubers land, with yields of 40 to 50 per cent higher. Prostitution also provides an opportunity to detect sick tubers before boarding. The hidden inside, the tubers show a disease during the breeding, and they start rotting. Such tubers can't be planted. Non-sex and nitheistic tubers must also be removed.
